Russia Calls in Azerbaijan’s Ambassador

(MENAFN) Azerbaijan’s envoy to Moscow was called in on Tuesday by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Rahman Mustafayev arrived at the ministry’s headquarters located on Smolenskaya Square in Moscow, according to a statement from the diplomatic service.

He refused to answer questions from the press.

The Russian Foreign Ministry had previously announced that Mustafayev was summoned due to last Friday’s arrest of Russian reporters in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

On Monday, the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry confirmed that security forces had carried out an operation at the offices of the Russian news outlet Sputnik Azerbaijan.
