Russia Reports Civilian Deaths, Drone Incidents

(MENAFN) Russia asserted on Tuesday that a total of 20 civilians, one of whom was a child, lost their lives in drone strikes conducted by Ukraine over the past week.

According to an official state media, this statement was made by Rodion Miroshnik, the Special Envoy for the Russian Foreign Ministry.

He further reported that 85 individuals, including seven children, suffered various injuries as a result of the attacks.

Miroshnik also emphasized that Ukrainian forces deliberately targeted members of the press during this period.

A news team from the media organization Rossiya Segodnya came under assault while working in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

This incident led to the death of journalist Ivan Zuyev and left his colleague, Yuri Voytkevich, critically injured.

In a separate announcement, the Russian Defense Ministry disclosed that its aerial defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 55 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles that had entered several Russian territories overnight.

In Rostov-on-Don, a civilian was wounded when a Ukrainian drone crashed nearby.

Meanwhile, in Bataisk, a residential apartment complex suffered structural damage due to another drone incident.

The Defense Ministry also noted that in the Bryansk region, a young person was injured by fragments from a downed Ukrainian military drone.
