Russia, Ukraine exchange accusations of attacks
In Russia’s Bryansk region, local officials said a civilian vehicle was hit by a Ukrainian kamikaze drone in the Pogarsky district, resulting in the deaths of two people. Describing the incident, a regional official said, "Ukrainian terrorists attacked a moving civilian vehicle with kamikaze drones in the village of Chausy, Pogarsky district. Unfortunately, two civilians were killed as a result of the terrorist attack," according to a statement shared on social media.
At the same time, Ukrainian authorities reported civilian deaths caused by Russian shelling in the Zaporizhzhia region. Officials said a married couple and their 57-year-old neighbor were killed in the attack, which also caused damage to residential property. Several private homes were hit, and multiple vehicles were set ablaze.
Separately, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said large portions of the capital were left without power following Russian strikes on energy facilities. He stated, "As of this evening, more than one million consumers in Kyiv alone are without electricity. A significant number of buildings are without heat – more than 4,000 apartment blocks. ‘All efforts must be directed toward easing the situation,’" he wrote.
The exchange of accusations highlights the continuing impact of cross-border attacks on civilians, as infrastructure damage and loss of life continue to be reported on both sides.
