Russia Conducts Retaliatory Strikes on Ukraine Airfields, Energy Sites
Framing the assault as a direct response to Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory, the ministry said in a statement that Russian forces launched a combined strike with long-range land- and air-launched high-precision weapons and combat drones against military airfields, as well as energy, fuel and transport infrastructure used to serve the needs of the Ukrainian forces.
Scale of Operations
The ministry reported that over the preceding 24 hours, Russian forces had additionally struck temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian armed groups and foreign mercenaries across 148 separate areas.
Russian air defense systems destroyed 352 fixed-wing drones, 10 guided aerial bombs, and one US-made HIMARS rocket projectile along the front lines during the same period, the ministry said.
Ukraine Strikes Back
Kyiv was not idle. Ukraine's drone forces command confirmed Saturday that its own forces had struck the Russian port city of Taganrog and targeted an oil depot in Feodosia, Crimea — signaling that both sides continue to exchange long-range blows well beyond the immediate front lines.
