Russia Reports Capture of Two Additional Villages in Ukraine

(MENAFN) Russia announced on Thursday that its forces had gained control of two more settlements in eastern and northeastern Ukraine as fighting continues along multiple sections of the front line.

According to a statement issued by the Russian Defense Ministry, troops captured the village of Rozkishne in the Donetsk region. The settlement is located roughly 9 kilometers west of the frontline city of Kostiantynivka, an area that has seen sustained military activity in recent months.

The ministry also stated that Russian forces took control of Okhrimivka, a village in the Kharkiv region situated approximately 3 kilometers from the Russian-Ukrainian border.

Earlier in the day, Ukraine’s General Staff reported that Russian troops had carried out four attacks against Ukrainian positions along the South Slobozhansk front. The reported assaults targeted areas near three settlements, including Okhrimivka.

Ukrainian officials had not publicly responded to the latest Russian claims at the time of reporting.

Due to the ongoing conflict and limited access to combat zones, the battlefield claims made by either side could not be independently verified.
