Ukrainian Drone Attack Kills Two, Injures Seventeen in Russia’s Voronezh

(MENAFN) Two people were killed and 17 others, including a child, were wounded in a Ukrainian drone strike on Russia’s Voronezh region, the regional governor said Monday.

Governor Alexander Gusev expressed condolences to the victims’ relatives and friends on behalf of himself and the regional administration in a statement posted on the Russian social media platform Max.

He also wished those injured a swift recovery and said medical teams would make every effort to treat them.

"According to updated data, which may be supplemented, two people were killed in the terrorist attack in Voronezh, unfortunately (men born in 1960 and 1973), and 17 were wounded. Among the wounded is one child," Gusev said.

The governor urged residents to avoid sharing photographs or videos online showing the aftermath of air defense operations, especially material that could reveal geographic locations.

Separately, five people sought medical treatment after a large-scale Ukrainian drone attack on the city of Belgorod on Sunday, according to the regional operational headquarters in a statement on Max.

Belgorod Governor Alexander Shuvaev said the attack killed two civilians and injured 13 others.

He added that the strikes damaged eight commercial properties, three social facilities, 30 apartment buildings, 35 vehicles, four private homes and three administrative buildings.

Meanwhile, Russia’s Defense Ministry said its forces conducted overnight strikes against logistics hubs, energy infrastructure, ports and vessels that it claimed were being used to support Ukrainian troops.

In Ukraine, Russian attacks injured two people in the Chernihiv region, four in strikes on Zaporizhzhia city and two in attacks on settlements across the Kharkiv region, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.

Ukrainian authorities said Sunday that Russian strikes carried out the previous day had killed four people and injured 32 others.

The accounts provided by both sides could not be independently verified.
